ABOUT ME

Having studied both RHS & Permaculture methods, I work organically, working with nature, encouraging growth & enriching biodiversity above & below the soil line.  

 

My work varies from soft landscaping design & planting to care of both ornamental & kitchen gardens throughout the South East.

FLORISTRY 

After initially training as a florist I became concerned at the throw away nature of the industry and the environmental impact & resources involved in the professional flower growing industry.  I wanted to create pieces that lasted more than just a couple of weeks and began to forage and grow as much of my own as I could.  

Drawing on my experience as a gardener, I am inspired by the beautiful foliage, berries, trees & petals that surround us.  My work gathers together all of these elements in their delicacy and beauty into dried form so that they can be enjoyed year after year.

"We were introduced to 'The Cottage Gardener' in the spring of 2019 and our garden has never looked back! Anya designed an excellent shady border for the rear of our garden which we are now seeing the benefit of.  She has also redesigned 2 of our sunny borders together with a rose bed which we are looking forward to seeing during the summer.  Anya, where possible, makes use of existing plants and so the end product is very cost efficient.  She is creative, punctual, amusing and great fun to work in the garden with.  If you are looking for a plantswoman I would thoroughly recommend her.
